HTC is the best.......

So, it had always been a topic of discussion among my friend from the day i bought my HTC incredible s smartphone, that firstly if android the best operating system for a mobile and secondly if HTC smartphones are better than those of other android smartphones like Samsung Galaxy SII or sony ericson xperia etc. Before starting to describe how i gained confidence with time explaining people and sometimes even myself how Android is the best and later on the same views for HTC, I would like to assure you that i am very satisfied with the choice i made in choosing my smartphone.

Story behind Android
Almost all of the credit for motivating me to buy an android smartphone and to be specific an HTC smartphone goes to Mr Gaurav Kumar, my Classmate from Mount Carmel School, New Delhi and also a very good friend of mine. He might even not be knowing this fact. Anyways so it all started in my college days itself when Google buzz has been forcibly provided to all the gmail users who had no choice but to try buzzing. So it was the buzz of gaurav asking for suggestions of a smartphone and later an anouncement declaring that he has purchased HTC desire. I googled a little bit and came to know that it uses amdroid as its operating system which was quite new to the market. I found out that android is a part of google the company which has always been appreciated by me except in the field of social network where I have tested its failure in google wave, buzz, orkut (though it was quite successful, just was not competitive enough to compete with facebook.) and google plus. My love for google products along with the open source platform of android which could enable developers around the world to develop applications for android devices and thus me of all types, inspired and strenghthened my decision to own an android mobile if i ever own one.

Story behind HTC
Its is quite obvious now that the first time i got inspired or i should say that the the first time i heard about HTC was on the buzz old my friend. As I knew that he is a techsavy person and is working in a nice company which must have improoved his views and choices regarding latest gadgets, I was quite sure that HTC will surely be among the top options i will opt for my mobile. And It would be unjustified to give all the credit to HTC for my decision to choose it, some or a lot of credit should be given to the other non HTC smartphone and their failures.

Why not NOKIA
Nokia had always been my first choice as it was the first mobile i used for a considerable period of time and was the certainly on the top when mobile facilities had been introduced to my town Buxar. The case of 3315 and 1100 is well known among all the people that you can throw them anyway and they can be reused without any problem. I was quite impressed with it and on a later date my first multimedia phone.i purchased was ofcourse a Nokia mobile, to be specific Nokia 5520 xpress music. With time i came to understand the biggest problem of Nokia i.e the flashing problem. Every year once or twice i had to get the ROM of my mobile reloaded and No one is umaware of the hang problem of nokia.

Nokia was quite a performing device in low range mobiles but for the smartphones and higher range devices the most important consideration is its OS which was symbian for the case of nokia, not an impressive one. Blackberry, iphone and android were well above it in the case of OS performance as well as app store. So in sort I was quite sure that I am going to shift myself to either HTC or sony erricsion(i appreciated this barand for music quality).

Why Not Samsung
So As I told you above that my choices were expandable upto sony erricsion too which causes a new quotion to come in the mind as on why not Samsung, Panasonic(it also sells mobile) or any other brands with possiblity of having android
OS. Here is the story for this too, which starts from the days when even the cost of Nokia 3315 was higher than 4000. We (me and my family) were quite excited about the digital camera facility in mobiles and were eager to own one such phone. The choice was made and we were a proud owner of a slide mobile which can play music, capture pictures and even video(actually it was not video but gif image without any sound wtf!!). Anyways I was heavily unsatisfied with this phone for a long list of reasons and as soon after that Nokia 6600 came into market it was a big regret for us. So I promished myself that i wont be buying any mobile brand not wholly involved in mobile bussiness and that what caused my hatred for samsung mobile, as panasonic mobiles were no longer there in the market i had to shift my views onto some other company as i could not afford to waste this awsome lesson learnt from my mistakes.

Another reason was due to the mobile my friend amit brought i.e sansung corby. I was not able to connect that device to a laptop to use its internet as a modem. I have successfully used internet from even a micromax device but not this... And the limitation of apps, themes along with the anger from my experiences of panasone mobile added to my hatred for samsung.

And fyi samsung galaxy s2 had yet been launched in market for which i have some positive feeling and i hope it has the capicity to reduce my hatred foe samsung.

Why not Blackberry
In and around the time i was planning to purchase a smartphone blackberry has been quite famous in the market and had been becoming status symbol of many people. But the concept of being stuck to a network was not at all fascinating. Also the complications of use of internet services in blackberry and ofcourse the limitations of app in it encourage me not to even think of it as a choice.

Why not Iphone
I should confess that if there had not been any android concept i might have chosen iphone. Though i never used an iphone or even have seen it so far but the number of applications available is quite high and satisfactory. The only problem was that i was not sure if i would be able to develop applications for iphone by myself easily which i could for android as it uses java. And also the best apps in iphone were not free.

Events leading to purchase of HTC(Boring stuffs here.. skip it)
I was in college and already owned a mobile of worth Rs7000. I could not put pressure on my family for a costly mobile as i was not earning anything and was not sure how much i am going to earn in near future. I always thought that i am not worthy of such a high tech mobile in my college days.Later I got selected in Tata steel and my elder brother promished to gift me a smartphone of my choice once I get out of college and that was when I started working to find out my dream mobile as I didn't want it to be a mistake as if it would, it would be quite a costly mistake. I searched for many a mobiles but i found that mobiles in htc are either not with a front camera or had not been launched yet and so just kept my mind open and hoped to find the one I need and want at the time of purchase.

It was not only the mobile I dreamt of in college but also have planned to visit many a places in India before I start working for some company and as soon as I got out of college after my final year, I started working on my plan. The plan needed to include my best friends amar, vinit, ashish in tanjor, hyderabad and bangalore respectively and I though in the time I had i would visit my friends in and around the area and also some nice trip to some good places.

Long story short I booked a tatkal ticket to hyderabad, asked for the money for my smartphone from bhaiya in response to which my mother gave me a cheque of 30000 which i deposited instantly in the bank and left for hyderabad. I enjoyed there a lot with vinit and his friends. I was not able to purchase my mobile there as my cheque was still not cleared. Due to some changes in my plan i went to pune to meet my friend Gaurav from buxar and satya of delhi. I had quite a good time during my stay there and ome fine day me and Gaurav went out for the mobile purchase.

First we went to some area i dont remember which we have found on internet as a HTC dealer. We could not locate that and went to Mobile Store. The guy there almost succeeded in motivating me to own a samsung or sony mobile with android ofcourse. He even gave me good reason as why is he not keeping htc mobiles at his shop and why shouldn't i own it. I hesisted at the end and requested him to give me a chance to check some htc mobiles.

Then we went to MG road went to a small shop to check it out and settled on HTC Incredible S as I had an impression that this model had been quite new in the market and moat importantly it had front camera. I had to swap my atm card thrice at some atm center to get the cash out each time getting 10000 as there was 2% charge on used of debit cards at an electronic store as told by the shop owner. Anyways finally I was a proud owner of a smartphone costing me 27000 INR.

What I miss in here
Though i love my mobile very much but its not the perfect smartphone as the impression i might have made so far. Like all other ones it has some shortcomings which are small but would have made it better.

* The first one is absence of hdmi videoput suppprt which is there in nokia n8 or sony experia neo.
* Comparitively smaller battery life. I have compared it with all other smartphone in the range.
* Service centers: I guess that once I get some issue with my phone i will have to travel to some metropolitan city to find an authorised HTC Service outlet, though I wish and hope I dont get the opportunity to confirm my guess.
* No support for hindi language even on internet browser (hindi letters on facebook are shown in squares...). I guess it does not have support for many other languages too.
* You can't use internet and talk to someone on a call simultanousely.. Internet goes off instantly when you recieve a call very bad option for when you are making a payment and someone gives a ring...

* May be more to come...

What's special about HTC
* Text reflow in the internet browser.
* Features specific in phone due to HTC Sense, google it for the complete list.
* Dedicated search key to open any song, app, google, dictionary, wikipedia, imdb and many more...
*
*More to be added soon....

P.S: I will correct all the spelling and grammatical errors quite soon...
